Youth Dinghy Sailing
Aims:
Rather than joining adult courses kids can join courses aimed at their age group. There are 4 RYA stages (Stage 1, Stage 2 etc.).
Course Duration:
Each course is two days (0930 to 1630) or can be spread over evenings.
Pre Requisites:
- No experience required for stage 1
- Previous stage required before proceeding onto Stage 2,3 & 4
- Must be able to swim a minimum of 25m
- Minimum age 8
Course Content:
Each stage progresses young sailors and builds upon the stage before. Most of the time is spent afloat, with very short briefings ashore. The learning is fun and aims to build confidence quickly. During each course a capsize drill is carried out.
