Teen Yacht Week
Details:
Join a five-day live aboard yacht cruising course and complete your RYA Competent Crew or RYA Dayskipper. The entire crew will be aged 14-17.
Overview:
RYA Competent Crew and/or RYA Dayskipper practical courses for teenagers. There are be up to 5 students on board each yacht. During the 5-day week they eat and sleep on board the yacht, learn to navigate by day and night, sail, practice power handling in the marinas and sail throughout the Solent.
Aims:
To give under eighteen year olds the opportunity to complete the RYA Competent Crew and RYA Dayskipper Courses.
Course Duration:
5 days (and nights), 0930 on Day 1 to 1600 on Day 5.
Pre Requisites:
RYA COMPETENT CREW
- Can confidentially swim 50m
- Minimum age 14
RYA DAYSKIPPER SAIL
- Can confidentially swim 50m
- Minimum Age 16
- 5 days on board
- 100 miles logged
- 4 night hours on board a sailing yacht
- Basic navigation and helming ability
