Teen Yachting Experience

Overview:

A yachting experience with Stormforce Coaching is unlike many run of the mill sailing jaunts, where you simply sit back and enjoy the scenery; a yachting experience with Stormforce Coaching is a hands-on taster of what it’s like to really crew a yacht. If you’ve never sailed before, our experience package will be the perfect opportunity to learn some basic skills and truly realise the thrill of sailing, whilst in the safe hands of our experienced and knowledgeable skipper. Or, if you’ve sailed before and fancy a half-day trip with a difference with likeminded people, you’ll love this opportunity to spend an exhilarating few hours on the water. This course is specifically designed for teenagers between 13 & 17.

Course Duration:

This is a half-day yachting experience and we run two sessions a day. If you’re a morning person, join the 09.00-12.30 session; if you’d prefer a lie-in, the afternoon session, 13.30-17.00 could be for you.

Pre Requisites:

No experience is necessary, but you must be between 13 & 17 years old.

Course Content:

As part of the experience, you will have the opportunity to:

• learn the basics of sailing 
• steer the yacht 
• hoist the sails
• practice adjusting and trimming the sails 
• try your hand at some ropework

Course Programme:

Meet at our Training Centre at Shamrock Quay Marina at 09.00 / 13.30 for a full safety debrief and to be fitted with life jackets and wet weather gear.

Is this course for me?

Although not a certificated training course, this one day experience is an ideal taster session for those teenagers wanting to get into sailing. It is also a chance for those with some sailing experience to enjoy a day out on the water honing their crewing skills and meeting other likeminded people of a similar age.
