Our powerboat training falls into three disciplines; open powerboats (up to 10m), motor cruisers (over 10m) and personal watercraft (Jet Skis). We run the full range of RYA courses in each discipline. We also offer a range of BWS Ski Boat Driver and BSAC dive boat operator courses.

SAILING
Our RYA sailing courses fall into four disciplines- dinghy sailing, keelboating, multi hull sailing and sail cruising. Yacht sailing can be inshore, offshore or trans ocean. Bareboat and skippered charter are available. We also compete in a large number of International yacht racing events on both sides of the Atlantic.

We offer a wide range of support courses in First Aid, safety, communications, boat care, navigation and meteorology. A lot of courses lead to world recognised RYA, STCW or HSE qualifications, others are Stormforce specific courses such as 12-volt electric or Weather for Yachtsmen.

RYA Powerboat Level 2 / ICC
Aims:
This 2-day course concentrates mainly on boat handling and safety. It is an introduction to powerboating and encompasses Level 1. The RYA Powerboat Level 2 is also known as the National Powerboat Certificate and is generally considered "the licence" for powerboats. Although considered a speed boat / powerboat licence, it is still very much a fun and relaxed course. We have taught literally thousands of beginners and so far they have all passed.
Course Duration:
Two Days - 0930 to 1700 hrs.
We run this course every weekend and most weekdays.
Pre Requisites:
- This course is suitable for beginners and those with experience but looking for formal training.
- Minimum age of 12 years applies; certificates for under 16s will be endorsed "Not to be in charge of a powerboat unless under the supervision of a responsible adult".
Course Content:
The course incorporates picking up a mooring, turning in a confined space, anchoring, coming alongside pontoons, man overboard procedures, high speed manoeuvring, towing, basic passage planning, chart work and safety kit.
The Level 2 certificate is roughly equivalent to a driving licence. If you require a powerboat licence for other European countries, we can also take care of the paperwork for your ICC (International Certificate of Competence), which is subject to a small RYA administration fee for non-RYA members.

We run this course every weekend and most weekdays, however there are only limited spaces. Please call if you can't find a date that is convenient, as we are often able to set up additional course dates.
