BWS Ski Boat Driver Level 2

Aims:

To give those who already hold the RYA Level 2 Powerboat the knowledge and training required to tow water skiers and wake boarders.

Course Duration:

2 to 2.5 hours

Pre Requisites:

• RYA Powerboat Level 2
• Minimum age 16
• Member of British Water Ski (BWS). You can join on the day

Course Conditions:

You need to provide a water skier or wake boarder who will ski for you for the training and assessment. If you would like us to provide the skier then the course fee doubles.

Alternatively if you can ski or wakeboard then you and a friend can train together and ski for each other.

Course Content:

Once you have booked we will send you a PDF of the course notes, which you can read in advance. The practical component of the course includes

• Stowage of skis and/or boards onboard
• Towing skiers or wakeboaders
• Recovery of skiers or wakeboarders

There is also a short multiple choice paper based on the course notes we will have sent you in advance.

• Use of one of our RIBs or powerboats

What's Not Included:

• BWS Membership Fee (£68 at time of writing)
• Ski Boat Driver Level 2 Certificate (£20 at time of writing)
• Wetsuit and spray top (£5 hire if booked in advance)

Optional Extras:

• RYA ICC power 10m (International License) £40
• If there is a group of two or more of you we can combine the RYA Powerboat Level 2 and the BWS Ski Boat Driver Level 2 into a 2-day course
