RYA / ISAF Offshore Safety Course
Aims:
This course satisfies the training required by ISAF Offshore Special Regulation 6.01 for category 0, 1 and 2 offshore races such as the ARC Race, RORC Fastnet, RORC Round Britain and Ireland and RORC Round Ireland Race. Please note since the release of the latest Offshore Special Regulations, certain crew members are now required to undergo separate First Aid training. This course is also known as the ISAF Offshore Course, the ISAF Offshore Safety Course or the ISAF Offshore Race Crew Course.
Course Duration:
1 Day - 0930 to 1600
Pre Requisites:
You must hold either the RYA Sea Survival Certificate (or the STCW ‘95 Personal Survival Techniques Certificate), taken within the last 5 years. These courses are normally held consecutively so that you can complete all of the necessary training in 2 days (often a weekend). The ISAF certificate will be valid for 5 years from the date of your Sea Survival Course. If you have previously taken a 2 day ISAF course then you only require a one day ISAF Offshore Safety Refresher
Course Content:
Weather forecasting, practical use of fire extinguishers, use of storm sails, storm tactics while racing, affixing emergency repairs and person overboard recovery.
What's Included:
- One day of shorebased training
- ISAF Offshore Safety Certificate
- Free parking at Shamrock Quay
Booking:
If the dates below do not suit you we can set up a bespoke 1:1, 2:1 or group course at a time that is more convenient. We have run bespoke courses in Italy, Greece, Ireland, Portugal and France and are happy to travel further if you need us to.
