Keeping the fleet up to date, the two zapcats have been replaced for 2007. These boats are not for the faint hearted. They are used for Zapcat experiences, corporate entertainment packages and Zapcat specific RYA powerboat training.

Tornado (4.5m) - Southampton

New for March 2007 the Tornado is primarily our safetyboat for dinghy coaching. She is also available for powerboat training and in particular kids powerboat courses. Fitted with a Tohatsu 40HP outboard she complements the existing (larger) fleet allowing us to deliver an even more varied range of craft for Powerboat Instructor Courses. This boat is available to hire as a safetyboat for events and construction.

New in November 2007 she is fitted with a 225 HP 4 stroke outboard. This is our most comfortable RIB, she is used for the whole range of powerboat courses and available to charter. The colour Garmin Chart plotter/GPS and Icom DSC make her a good choice for intermediate and advanced courses and her 250l tanks guarantee a good cruising range. The boat is fully coded and available for charter. We can alter the seating configuration to suit requirements from 5 to 10 seats.

New in April 2006 the Leeway is kitted out with Standard Horizon VHF/DSC, large 12" Standard Horizon Colour Chart Plotter and a Mariner 90HP two stroke engine, the boat can sit seven people however for powerboat courses we only take three students maximum. We mainly use this well balanced RIB for Level 1 and 2 Courses. She is responsive but also very forgiving. With a top speed 45 knots, the hull has been designed for speed she is very easy to handle and an excellent RIB for learning boat handling in. The boat is coded for day and night use and available for charter.

Our two Personal Watercraft (PW) are 2006 and 2007 craft respectively. We chose two slightly different models so that instructor candidates could train with both the conventional forward only and the deluxe reverse & forward gear box version. The craft will sit three however we teach with a maximum of two students on a PW at a time. Both craft are fitted with clean and quiet 4 stroke engines, the only sound you will hear are your own screams of excitement.

Brand new for 2007 are two RS Vision dinghies. RS designed this dinghy with RYA Taining Centres in mind, it is stable enough for beginers to find their sea legs while the more advanced student will find it fast and exciting. We have fitted both boats with asymetric spinakers and trapezes and store them on a dry docks afloat, reducing time spent on launching. The Dinghy fleet is proving a very popular option with our existing yacht sailing cutomers who want to focus on pure sailing skills.

Brand new for the 2008 season is the RS Terra. Essentialy a youth sailing dinghy we have bought her to further improve both our Dinghy instructor and Safetyboat training. Students can experience working with single and double handers. She is also valible for 1:1 and 2:1 dinghy youth training.

One of the most popular yachts in the UK, new in 2004 the Bavaria 36 is ideal for skippered charter. She sleeps eight and is fitted with plotter, radar etc. She is used predominantly for RYA cruising courses.

Our main teaching boat is the Bavaria 38 cruiser. Kitted out with Raymarine instruments and Standard Horizon 12" chart plotter, Simrad DSC/VHF and CD. With 8 berths across three cabins and the saloon she is very spacious for our RYA training courses and also avaliable for charter.

Atlantic 42 - Solent

Newest addition to the motor yacht fleet is the Atlantic 42. She is shaft-powered by twin Volvo Penta TAMD63P (370hp) diesel engines. Powerful bow and stern thrusters make light work of mooring duties. Cruising range is approximately 220 miles at 18 kts with a top speed of 24 knots. Fitted with Raymarine 12" colour radar, Raymarine colour chartplotter/GPS and autopilot in addition to the standard navigation and safety equipment. This boat is proving very popular for courses and charters not lleast as she sleeps the crew in 4 seperate cabins/areas.

Avaliable for skippered Charter this is by far the biggest yacht in the fleet. Fuly equipped with all modern electronics she is coded for twelve passengers and 2 crew. Below deck are twin Volvo 610 HP shaft drive engines.
