Our Training Centres

Stormforce Coaching has two training centers in Southampton; each one specialises in different activities and has been selected for its suitability for its activities. All bookings and enquiries are taken through the Kemps Quay office. We have a third centre in Porto Heli, Greece that provides sailing holidays. As winter arrives in the UK one of our yachts starts its Atlantic circuit, sailing South for the sunshine of the Canary Island and then crossing the Atlantic for the winter season before returning to Europe for the summer race season in the Solent. While we do not have a permanent centre in the Canary Islands or the Caribbean we run courses, charters and race events from both destinations.

Stormforce Coaching Offshore Training Centre (Kemps Quay, Southampton, U.K.)- Year round

Our offshore training center and company head quarters is based on the River Itchen. We have plenty of free parking. We are less than ten minutes by taxi from Southampton Central Station; two minutes walk from Bitterne Rail Station and less than fifteen minutes taxi from Southampton Airport. The centre has four fully equipped training rooms and the fleet is only two minutes walk away. From here we run Yacht Racing, Sail Cruising, Keelboating, Motor Cruising, Powerboating and Shorebased Courses, making use of the Solent, English Channel and beyond. In 2010 we expanded into larger premises within the same marina.

Stormforce Coaching Water Sports Training Centre (Weston Shore, Southampton, U.K.)- Year round

We operate from Southampton Sailing Club (as a satellite Centre). The club is home to our watersports training. There are changing rooms, training rooms, a dinghy compound and a slipway. The beach opens straight onto Southampton Water providing us with a steady breeze and an ample sailing area. Although only 2 miles from the Kemps Quay Centre, Weston Shore presents us with an entirely different sailing area. This is a first class operating area for dinghy sailing, PWC courses and Safetyboat training. We also run a wide variety of dinghy, multi hull and PWC instructor courses here. Again we have plenty free parking. Courses at this centre are scheduled around tide times. The two Southampton centres are less than ten minutes apart by road. The Club is particularly welcoming towards any of our students want to go on and become members.

Stormforce Coaching Water Sports Holidays (Porto Heli, Greece)- April to October

Our Greek water sports centre offers "Beach Club" holidays for sailors and windsurfers. We have both self catering studio apartments and hotel rooms. Our beach is home to a fleet of sailing dinghies, cats, windsurf boards, kayaks and mountain bikes. During a holiday with us you will benefit from some coaching in the mornings, free sailing in the afternoons and the opportunity to relax in one of the many waterside tavernas in the evening. Rather than formal training the emphasis here is on allowing you to drop in and out of sessions and activities as you please. This is a fantastic resort to learn or develop dinghy sailing, multi hull sailing and windsurfing (beginner and intermediate).We believe our ratio of guests to craft is unrivalled by any UK operator in the Med.

Stormforce Coaching Caribbean Yachting (Antigua)- December to May

During the winter months we offer a number of RYA Sail Cruising Courses and Race Events in the Caribbean. Join us for your Competent Crew, Dayskipper or Coastal Skipper Course or for the ARC, RORC Caribbean 600, Antigua Week or St. Maarten Heineken Regatta. Leave the cold dark nights of the UK behind and enjoy some great sailing conditions (while wearing shorts) in January to April.

Stormforce Coaching Gran Canaria Yachting (Las Palmas)- October to November

In October and November of each year we have a yacht based in Las Palmas where it starts the ARC Trans Atlantic Race. Before the race we are able to run a few RYA courses in the beautiful Canary Islands. Well known for year round sunshine, good breeze and tidal sailing this is a great place to take a RYA course or join an offshore cruise.
