Powerboat - XS 600 - Southampton

Our primary training RIB and a new build in September 2010, "Obi Wan" was chosen specifically for RYA Level 2 and Intermediate Courses. Powered by a silent 115HP 4-stroke Mercury engine, she gives a very quiet and smooth ride. She is equipped with 6 jockey seats, a Standard Horizon colour chart plotter and DSC/VHF set.

Powerboat - XS 700 - Southampton

New for 2012, "Yoda" is just under 7.2m in length and you can enjoy the full range of powerboat courses on board her. You will find her Mercury 200HP Verado engine ideal for developing both your close quarter handling and high-speed skills. You will also learn how to use the VHF radio and echo sounder on board, whilst the large colour chart plotter will assist you with navigation. Yoda is also used for skippered charter. She is licensed for day and night use and seats 10.

Powerboat - Jeanneau Rigiflex Newmatic 400 - Southampton

"Jabba (the Jaffa)" is our trusty safety and coach boat, used for dinghy and PWC courses. Re-engined in 2011 with tiller steered 20 HP Mariner 4 strokes, "Jabba" adds diversity to our Powerboat Instructor training, Safetyboat Courses and Junior Powerboat Courses (for under 12s).

Motor Cruiser - Sea Ray 37 - Southampton

Believe it or not, the vast majority of motor boat schools do not actually own their own motor cruiser. We are, however, one of the few that do and are therefore able to arrange your course without having to mess about with third parties. Twin Volvo 200 HP engines power "Bounty Hunter", our comfortable 11m Sea Ray sports cruiser. The twin shafts make light work of moorings and she is fully equipped with a Raymarine Chart plotter, radar, DSC and instrumentation. With a top speed of 30 knots she is ideal for motorboat training and used for Start Motor Cruising, Helmsman's, ICC, Dayskipper, Yachtmaster and Cruising Instructor Courses. We limit the number of students on courses to 4, but she is also available for bespoke 1:1 and 2:1 training.

PWC - Seedoo GTX 4-Tec - Southampton

New to us in 2010, "Ewok" is our primary training ski and is used on most PWC Courses. She will comfortably sit 1-3 riders and is fitted with a modern clam (as opposed to the older/conventional bucket system); making close quarter handling easier. Although she is able to seat more, you will share this powerful ski with only one other student on your course. Corporate charter/entertainment packages can include the exciting Seedoo GTX as an optional extra.

PWC - Yamaha XL760 - Southampton

"Endor" is powered by a light two stroke marinised Yamaha motorbike engine. When you ride this ski you will leave the others behind (if you have not fallen off!).

PWC - Yamaha VX 110 - Southampton

The best selling Personal Watercraft in the UK. The Yamaha VX seats three (although we limit it to two riders for training courses). This machine has a quick acceleration and is powered by a clean and quiet 4-stroke engine; the only sounds you will hear are your own screams of excitement!

Yachts - 2 Jeanneau Sunfast 37' – Southampton

We searched long and hard to find a cruiser/racer that would perform as a training, charter and racing yacht. With nine berths, a large spinnaker, aft main and full inventory, our two Sunfast 37's have proved very popular and fit the bill perfectly."Jedi Knight" was the first on the fleet. She proved so successful we followed her 18 months later with "Storm Trooper". For offshore cruises they eat up the miles; on the racecourse they are competitive and for training they perform as sailing yachts should. Jedi Knight is fitted with Raymarine Instruments, a Standard Horizon Plotter, Icom DSC and powerful Yanmar engine. Storm Trooper is similar but with a Raymarine Chart Plotter. Although busy with our training and race programme, Jedi Knight is also available for bareboat charter.

Yacht - Hanse 350 - Southampton

"Padme" was built in 2008. She is used for both RYA courses and bareboat charter. With an auto helm, roller furling headsail, stack pack on the main and the option of rigging the jib as a self tacker, she is popular with short handed crews. She is fitted with Icom DSC, Raymarine instruments and Simrad GPS & Plotter. She can sleep up to 8 people across three double cabins and two single saloon berths.

Yacht - Beneteau First 40.7 - Southampton/Caribbean

“Cheeki Rafiki” is a performance racer/cruiser and suitable for both the inshore and offshore circuit. She is fully equipped for events such as the Fastnet Race and Round Britain & Ireland Race. Her sail wardrobe suits all conditions and she sleeps ten across three cabins and the saloon. We have equipped her for trans Atlantic sailing and racing. "Rafiki" now works both sides of the Atlantic with our race teams and Ocean Yachtmaster candidates.

Yacht - Elan 40 - Southampton

The newest addition to the growing yacht fleet, "Libeccio", is an Elan 40. With 9 berths, she carries a suit of race sails and cruising sails and will be used for training, racing and bareboat charter. 

Despite being a new member of the fleet, "Libeccio" is already booked for the Round the Island Race and several courses.  She is coded (licensed) for up to ten people inshore and 8 people offshore (she sleeps nine).

Yacht - Grand Soleil 43' – Southampton & Caribbean

Quokka 8 is an IRC optimised racing machine that combines speed with comfort. The yacht has a carbon rig and impressive wardrobe of new race sails. She has a good record on the race track having won the IRC Nationals overall in 2011 (discarding a 1st place). She scored a top ten position in the Fastnet 2011, won two RORC offshore races, come 2nd in the ARC Trans Atlantic 2012 and represented Great Britain in the Commodores Cup in 2009. This winning boat is is competing in the 2013 Caribbean season before heading back to the UK to catch the summer season over here. She is used exclusively for racing.

Keelboats - SB20s - Southampton

New for winter 2012/2013 are three SB20s. Red Leader, Red 2 and Red 3. Formerly known as the SB3, the SB20 class is a fast and exhilarating open sports boat. She is quick in light airs and a rocket ship in anything above ten knots of breeze. She has a large bulb keel for upwind performance and carries a massive asymmetric spinnaker flown from a retractable carbon bow spirit for down wind flying. Our fleet of three matched SB20s ensure we can run effective race training. These boats are raced with three or four crew, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to play an active role in sailing the boat. The SB20 is a strict one-design class. The boats are avalible to hire for key race events. While great for racing, a quick change to our traiing sails makes these keelboast ideal for beginner and intermediate sailors.

Sailing Dinghy - Laser Bahia- Southampton

Our two larger laser dinghies were designed specifically for training purposes. They are stable enough for beginners to find their sea legs, while the more advanced student will find them fast and exciting. Both boats are fitted with asymmetric spinnakers and will serve you well from beginner to advanced level.

Multi hulls - 2 Hobie Catsy - Porto Heli

The Hobie Catsy is an ideal catarmaran for young children or nervous sailors to learn on. Whether sailing on their own, with a friend or adult, the Catsy offers a stable platform from which they can learn all the essentials of sailing whilst being out on the water. Our Catsys are kept on the water's edge and are light-weight enough for most children to be able to launch on their own.

Multi hulls - 2 Hobie Advance - Porto Heli

The Hobie Advance is the perfect platform for smaller sailors to move on to once having learnt the basics. With wave piercing hulls this catamaran offers a thrilling fast ride to those wishing to learn how to handle their cat for better performace. The Advance is kept on the water's edge, ready to go.

Multi hulls - 1 Hobie Twixxy - Porto Heli

The Twixxy offers a stable but often exhilarating ride for children and adults alike. Perfect for beginners to practice their new skills on, whilst accomplished sailors can make the most of stronger winds for an exciting sail. Our Twixxy is usually kept on a beach front mooring so just rock up, hop on and sail off!

A fast but forgiving catarmaran, the Hobie 15 is a skill and confidence builder for children and adults who want to move away from beginner vessels. Our Hobie 15s are located on water front moorings or on the shore with launching wheels so they’re ready to go whenever you are.

Sailing Dinghies - 1 Laser - Porto Heli

Nearly 300,000 owners can’t be wrong; the Laser is great for a single-handed blast in a boat identical to those used at the Olympics! Our Laser 1 has XD rigging for fine tuning and controlling the power and beach trolley for easy launching and landing.

Sailing Dinghies - 1 Laser 2000 - Porto Heli

Our most stable double handed dinghy, the versatile 2000 is forgiving for newer sailors, fun for the more experienced and a great way to learn how to use a spinnaker. It is also good to give the kids or family their first dinghy rides, or for pairs to learn to sail together with an instructor giving on-board advice. Our ‘two-grand’ is kept on a mooring for easy access.

Sailing Dinghies - 2 Laser 4000 - Porto Heli

In experienced hands this thoroughbred single-trapeze boat will give you the sail of a lifetime! Step up the ribbed ‘ladder’ on to the trapeze, power upwind with the boat humming, and then hurtle along flying the spinnaker; the faster the better for the 4000! If you can trapeze and fly a spinnaker, (and we can teach you to do both) we can show you a dinghy ride that you will remember forever. The ‘four-grand’ is kept on the beach on a handy launching trolley to make it easy to rig and launch with help from our team.

Sailing Dinghies - 2 RS 200 - Porto Heli

Skill level: Intermediate/Advanced, Capacity 2 people. Once you have the hang of the Laser 2000, move up a gear to the RS200! More performance, more speed, more spinnaker and more twitchy – but easy to right and excellent for lighter weight crews.

Sailing Dinghies - 2 RS 400 - Porto Heli

Our most powerful non-trapeze dinghy with a wide hull to control the power by hiking, loads of spinnaker to fly, controls to tweak and plenty of things to grab as you whizz through the turns. This technical yet approachable boat is a racer’s delight, so we have two!

Windsurf Boards - 1 Hi Fly Primo - Porto Heli

The Hi Fly Primo is a fantastic beginner board. We have four of them and their high volume leads to high buoyancy helping you master the basics of the sport in no time. A fully retractable dagger board helps you sail upwind and the Flat V assists planning.

Windsurf Boards - 4 Hi Fly Motion - Porto Heli

Our fleet includes eight of this modern design "wide style" board, which is suited to beginners and intermediate windsurfers. Shorter than the Primo but still very stable our Motions are good for all ages.

Windsurf Boards - 2 Hi Fly Matrix - Porto Heli

The two Matrix boards are shorter versions of the "wide style" Motion board, good for younger, lighter sailors and those progressing on to Intermediate courses.

We have a varierty of solo, small and large tandem kayaks which mean that all the family, however many, can get on the water at once. An exciting way to explore the bay; kayaking is fun and can be a great introduction for non-sailing children to the water.
