Fastnet Skippers Appointed

With two yachts in this years RORC Fastnet Campaign, selection of the skippers and mates has been harder than usual. We wanted both teams to receive the high standard of coaching we are famous for. After much deliberation we are confident that our teams are starting the season with a strong staff team.
Storm Trooper, the Sunfast 37 will be skippered by Adam Smith our Chief yachting Instructor. Adam has many years of RORC racing and several Fastnet races under his belt. He has also skippered the ARC, Caribbean 600 and countless more local events. Adam is an Ocean Yachtmaster Instructor.
Cheeki Rafiki, the First 40.7 will be skippered by Steve Hacking. Steve has raced this yacht as skipper and mate many times, in particular he was the mate for the 2009 Fastnet Campaign and for the 2010 Round Britain and Ireland Campaign. He has raced more miles on "Rafiki" than anyone on the planet and knows the boat inside out. Steve is a MCA Yachtmaster Offshore and a RYA Cruising Instructor.
Both Steve and Adam will be working together throughout the training phase to ensure every crew member is well prepared for the Fastnet race this year. The mates for each boat will be announced early next week.
