DINGHY SAILING COURSES
Dingy sailing courses take place aboard open boats that are sailed by one to three people. Dinghies do not usually have an auxiliary engine. On all of our dingy courses students undertake a controlled capsize drill, as capsizing is part and parcel of the sport. Between the 1 October and 31 April all students wear a wetsuit or a dry suit, during the summer months this is optional.
We follow the RYA National Sailing Scheme which comprises of seven levels of RYA Dinghy Sailing Courses. We have also inserted our own Improver Course into the scheme. Each course can be taken over two days or four evenings (the Day Sailing Course is only available as a two day course).
Although each course is two days we recommend those new to the sport book the six day Level 1, 2 and Improver combined course to ensure a solid introduction to the sport, it can be taken over three weekends, twelve evenings or six consecutive days. Having completed these first three courses you have a choice of which advanced route(s) you would like to follow.
The structure of the scheme is given below. Click on individual course titles (in blue) for more information, prices, dates and to book.

DINGHY COACHING SCHEME
For experienced dinghy sailors who would like to pass on their knowledge and skills to others we run a range of Instructor Courses. Titles and brief descriptions are given below. Click on the titles for dates, prices, course information and to book. There is no need to start as an Assistant Instructor but it does offer an opportunity to begin coaching at a younger age and to gain experience before taking the full Dinghy Instructors Course.
