SHOREBASED TRAINING COURSES
We run a wide range of Shorebased training courses for sailors, power boaters and divers. Courses range from one to eight days- each is designed to help you develop skills in specific areas such as radio, engine maintenance, first aid, navigation and survival. These courses allow you to focus on these skills while ashore without the distractions of flapping sails or noisy engines.
Which ever shorebased course you choose you will find our resources second to none. We have five well equipped training rooms enabling us to simulate all forms of electronic navigation, marine radio, engine maintenance and First Aid scenarios. We also use a swimming pool for life raft training. Although these are essentially shorebased courses they have many practical elements.

RYA Basic Navigation and Safety
A two day shorebased introduction to navigation and seamanship, aimed at power boaters and sailors.
RYA Dayskipper Shorebased
A thirteen evening or five day thorough introduction to navigation and seamanship for sailors or motor boaters.
RYA Coastal Skipper /Yachtmaster Offshore Shorebased
A fourteen evening or five day advanced navigation and meteorology course for skippers (sail and power).
RYA Ocean Yachtmaster Shorebased
A five day advanced ocean navigation course centring on astronavigation and world wide meteorology.
RYA Ocean Yachtmaster Oral Exam
A three hour oral exam for the ocean Yachtmaster Certificate of Competence.
RYA SRC (Short Range Certificate)
A one day course covering all you need to know about VHF, DSC and Navtex to gain your license.
RYA DSC (Digital Selective Calling) Upgrade
A half day or evening upgrade to DSC for existing VHF license holders.
RYA First Aid
A one day course suitable for RYA instructors, Coastalskippers, Yachtmasters and Advanced powerboat drivers.
RYA Radar
A one day course in the use of radar for collision avoidance and navigation.
RYA Diesel
A one day course in diesel engines aimed at beginners.
RYA Sea Survival
A one day course on the practical use of life raft, flares and other survival equipment.
ISAF Offshore Racing Crew
A one or two day course for Offshore Racers.
BSAC Outboard Maintenance
A one day course in outboard engine maintenance, trailer care and RIB repairs.
BSAC First Aid for Divers
A one day course specific to the types of injuries sustained by divers.
HSE Appointed Person First Aid
A one day course to satisfy your work places risk assessment.
HSE FAW (First Aid at Work)
A four day course for first aid in the workplace.
