BWS (British Water- Ski) SBDA (Ski Boat Driver Award) Training and Assessment
AIM: To give those who are new or fairly new to powerboat driving the knowledge and training required to tow water skiers and wake boarders.
DURATION: 2 days - 0900 to 1700.
PRE REQUISITES: None however it helps if you have at least some ski or wakeboard experience.
COURSE CONTENT: We combine this course with the RYA Level 2 National Powerboat Certificate so that over two days you will receive training in general powerboating as well as the specifics of towing water skiers and/or wake boarders. During the two days training you will take the Ski Boat Driver Award (SBDA) assessment.
You effectively leave with two certificates
· RYA Powerboat Level 2
· BWS Ski Boat Driver award
The course covers slow and high speed handling, towing skiers, recovering people from the water and all of the necessary safety knowledge and associated theory. Before completing the award you will need to become a member of the British Water Ski (BWS) and pay a license fee. If you are not already a member we can take care of all of the paper work while you are with us.
DIRECT ASSESSMENT: If you already hold the RYA Level 2 or have equivalent experience we offer a short training session with direct assessment. This takes about 2 hours and includes a practical assessment towing a skier and a multiple choice paper. This works well if you come with a friend so that you can ski or wakeboard for each other. If necessary we can provide a skier, this roughly double the price of the assessment. Please contact us for details.
BOOKING: Please contact the office to book either of the above.
Course Price £ 324.00
