RYA Senior Dinghy Instructor

AIM: For experienced RYA Dinghy Instructors who will be managing larger fleets or several courses at once. This is the minimum qualification required by a Chief Instructor. Professional Dinghy Instructors should aim to attain at least this qualification if they wish to progress within the industry, larger centres will have several Senior Instructors. Smaller centres and Clubs need at least one RYA Senior Instructor to maintain their RYA recognition 

DURATION: Four Days 0900 to 1700 with some evening study and pre course preparation 

PRE REQUISITES:

·     RYA Dinghy Instructor

·     In Date First Aid Certificate

·     RYA Safety boat

·     Recommendation from a RYA Principal

·     Minimum Age 18

·     Two Seasons or One Year Full Time Instructing Experience

COURSE CONTENT: Time is spent both ashore and afloat in double and single handers. The course will address fleet management, instructor management, improved coaching, improved de briefing and safety.
