MCA Powerboat Level 2 (Commercial)

AIM: To drive a small powered craft commercially in the UK on Coastal (and some inland) water you require some level of training and qualification. The basic qualification is known as the RYA/MCA Powerboat Level 2 with Commercial Endorsement. This week is effectively made up of the modules required to attain that qualification

DURATION: 5 days 0900 to 1700, usually consecutive but can be broken up.

PRE REQUISITES:

·     Minimum age 18

·     ML5 or ENG1 medical from your Doctor*

·     No previous experience required

*The ML5 Medical (click here) can be carried out by your GP, it takes about twenty minutes. Your GP will probably charge for this. Given enough notice we can arrange for your medical to be taken with our local Doctor.

COURSE CONTENT: This course is effectively made up of 4 shorter courses

·     RYA Powerboat Level 2

·     RYA First Aid

·     RYA Sea Survival

·     RYA Short Range Certificate (SRC)

EXTRAS: There is a separate RYA fee for the SRC license and the Commercial Endorsement, payable on the day. At the time of writing they were £30 each.
