RORC Fastnet Campaign 2011
ARE YOU READY FOR THE CHALLENGE?
Over 1,400 miles of Offshore Sailing, five Offshore Races including ‘The Rolex Fastnet Race’ and three training weekends. This is not just the Fastnet Race it is a full offshore race training campaign. If your aim is to be able to go in to the office in August and boast to your work mates about how you competed in the gruelling Fastnet then you need not apply, there are plenty race charter companies who will help you fulfil that ambition. If however you want to be part of a strong team working as one towards a unified goal of winning then read on. This is not an ordinary campaign offered by an ordinary charter company. Full training is provided and motivated team players of any ability are welcome. Experience, qualifications and racing skills are not required.
We are offering you a fabulous opportunity to take part in one of the yachting calendars most exhilarating races. As full training will be given, racing experience isn't necessary although enthusiasm and a desire to win are vital. Stormforce Coaching have designed an exciting offshore race package for the 2011 Rolex Fastnet Campaign that combines fun with comprehensive learning and genuine racing knowledge.
The Fastnet is about much more than simply taking part in a race. Included in our Campaign Package are three training weekends (two ashore and one on the water), five offshore races and of course, the Fastnet race itself. The campaign has been carefully put together to allow you to join us while taking the minimum time off work; training days are over weekends as are most of the events. To join us you do not require a long sailing or racing background. We are looking for team members who are enthusiastic, motivated and committed.
Competing in the Fastnet also gives you a chance to accomplish personal goals. As a team we will be competing in one of the most demanding yacht races in the world. We will need every ounce of every individual's energy and commitment to achieve a good result- when was the last time you really pushed yourself?
In the 2007 Fastnet Race our Chief Instructor skippered a sailing school crew to victory with a win in Class and only one of 50 boats that finished (from 300 starters). Having learnt from that
campaign we have made a few small tweaks to the product but will essentially be following our proven formulae.
