Keelboat Level 1 & 2

AIM: For you to become a competent keelboat sailor in light winds. You will be introduced to sailing techniques, maneuvers, rigging, mooring, safety and basic rules of the road. By the end of the course you should be able to sail in light winds without an instructor on board.

DURATION: Four days 0900 to 1700 (can be consecutive, mid week or broken over two weekends) or eight evenings 1800 to 2130.

PRE REQUISITES: None, suitable for complete beginners.

COURSE CONTENT: Rigging, points of sail, leaving and returning to pontoons, sailing efficiently and basic rules of the road. You will spend plenty time on the helm and crewing, which will help you become accostomed to all of the terminology and develop your techniques. This course is generally taught using our Ynglings "Bobba" and "Jango" although we may use the 1720 "Vader" or a J80.
