RSYC Summer Series (Evenings)
Evening racing at RSYC
What better way is there to finish off your working day than go racing in the summer evenings?
Thursday night is the beginning of the weekend throughout the summer months when RSYC host the Twilight Series and Summer series. We meet at 1730 each week and race until daylight runs out before heading to the Clubhouse for a “de brief at the bar”. Of the 7 results of the series the best 5 will count towards our final result. There is a brief prize giving after the race each week at the RSYC Clubhouse- all competitors are welcome.
What is Included
- Up to 7 Consecutive Thursday Evening Races (choose to join us for as may or as few weeks as you want)
- Skipper and performance racing boat
- Race Entry Fees
The Boat
"Vader" is a 1720, a high performance sportsboat that sails with six crew. Her huge asymmetric spinnaker, retractable pole and sleek hull help her fly downwind. This boat has achieved over twenty knots repeatedly. She has a full suit of race sails and is race tuned.
Pre Requisites
We have found from experience that crew who book racing series are of mixed ability. This works very well as we do not want a boat full of "old hands", nor do we want a boat full of novices. We do however set a minimum experience of basic Sailing ability (Keelboat Level 2 or equivalent). The RYA Start Keelboat Racing Course would also be useful.
Course Price £ 49.00
