Marine Electrics (12 volt)
AIM: Get rid of the confusion and understand how to look after your electric systems. Be able to solve problems that occur both in port and at sea. Become safer and save costly call outs. This course is suitable for sailors and power boaters and will help skippers become more self reliant.
DURATION: 1 day (1000 to 1700)
PRE REQUISITES: Basic knowledge of sailing yachts and/or or powerboats.
COURSE CONTENT:
- 12 Volt DC electrics and marine systems
- Batteries, charging and alternative power
- Fault finding and troubleshooting
- Connecting to the AC shore power
A large component of this course is practical fault finding. During the course you will make use of our training boards/simulators which include night lights, instruments, VHF sets etc. and you will work through common problems that occur with 12 volt installations. Use of tools and training resources is included as is a copy of Essential Electrics Handbook to take away with you.
