RYA PWC (Jet Ski) Proficiency

AIM: The Personal Watercraft (Jet Ski) Proficiency course is aimed at first time and experienced riders alike. Increasingly the certificate is required for launching in UK harbours, it may also be needed if you want to drive jet skis abroad. Many insurance companies insist upon it before they will insure you, some lower their premiums if you hold it. The course provides a good grounding in jet ski techniques.

DURATION: 1 Day 0900 to 1600.

PRE REQUISITES: Ability to swim at least 50m. Be aware this course is not suitable if you are pregnant or suffer from back problems. If in doubt consult your GP.

COURSE CONTENT: This course takes place on a our Seedoo GTX Jet Bike and Yamaha Wave Runners. The day includes;

• Controls
• Launching
• Close quarter handling
• Lots of high speed handling
• Capsize drill
• Time trials
• Safety
• After care
• Passage planning
• Recovery

There is a separate certification fee (£15 at time of writing) to the RYA payable on the day. If you also require the International European License we can take care of that at the same time. Certification fees for both licenses are £40 (at the time of writing). Unfortunately the RYA can only issue the European License to UK nationals and UK citizens. We can however issue the Proficiency Certificate to everyone.
