RYA Basic Navigation & Safety

AIM: To provide a basic awareness and understanding of navigation and safety. This course is for advanced dinghy sailors, intermediate keel boaters, intermediate power boaters and beginner yacht sailors.

DURATION: 2 consecutive days 1000 to 1700.

PRE REQUISITES: None, suitable for power boaters and sailors, particularly useful to those who have completed a Level 2 powerboat, dinghy or keelboat course.

COURSE CONTENT: Charts and publications, safety, buoyage, tidal awareness, basic navigation and pilotage, rules of the road, electronic navigation, anchoring, weather forecasts, passage planning.
