BSAC Outboard Maintenance
AIM: To acquaint power boaters with the design features and operation of modern outboard engines used on open boats, fault finding and rectification, owner servicing and maintenance: the routine care of the boat hull and fittings, and trailer care.
DURATION: One Day 1000 to 1700
PRE REQUISITES: None, although some practical experience of powerboating and general knowledge of boats would be useful.
COURSE CONTENT: The outboard engine, servicing, fault finding, routine cleaning and greasing, electrics, fuel system, propeller changing and care, changing gearbox oil, trailer electrics, GRP repairs, inflatable tube repairs and changing trailer wheel bearings.
