RYA Sea Survival
AIM: This course assumes the worst and that you have to abandon ship or yacht. This course is valid if you are using craft of up to 3000GT
DURATION: 1 Day 0900 to 1700
PRE REQUISITES: None
COURSE CONTENT: Every yachtsman (power or sail) should attend this one day course. The emphasis is on using life-rafts and the day includes a two hour practical session in the pool learning how to inflate, climb into, upright and survive in a life-raft. We also cover a wide range of other survival issues, including helicopter rescue, immersion in cold water and we hold an outdoor practical session giving you the oppurtunity to set off a real distress flare.
We hope you never need to use the skills gained on this course, but strongly believe that if the worst ever happens and you and your crew's lives depend on it, this training will prove invaluable and will help to preserve life.
This course is one of the requirements for anyone who would like to commercially endorse their Coastal skipper, Yachtmaster or Advanced Powerboat Certificates of Competence. The Sea Survival Course also makes up half of the ISAF Offshore Race Crew Course.
Course Price £ 87.00
