ISAF Offshore Survival

ISAF Offshore Survival

 

AIM: This course satisfies the training required by ISAF Offshore Special Regulation 6.01 for category 0, 1 and 2 offshore races such as the ARC, Fastnet and Round Ireland. Please note since the release of the latest Offshore Special Regulations (2008) certain crew members are now required to undergo separate First Aid training.

DURATION: 1 Day 1000 to 1600

PRE REQUISITES: You must hold either the RYA Sea Survival Certificate (or the STCW ‘95 Personal Survival Techniques Certificate) that was taken in the last 5 years. These courses are normally held consecutively so that you can complete all of the training in 2 days or a weekend. The ISAF certificate will be valid for 5 years from the date of your Sea Survival Course.

COURSE CONTENT: Weather forecasting, practical use of fire extinguishers, use of storm sails, storm tactics while racing, affixing emergency repairs and person overboard recovery.
