RYA Radar

AIM: Popular on both sailing and motor boats. Radar is an invaluable aid for navigation and collision avoidance but it is only useful in the hands of a knowledgeable and experienced operator. This course provides the knowledge for you to then gain the experience.

DURATION: 1 Day 1000 to 1700.

PRE REQUISITES: While no previous knowledge is required it is helpful if you have a basic understanding of navigation and collision regulations, this course is aimed at Coastal Skippers. Most students on this course have seen and tried to use a radar set previously but not experienced a great deal of success.

COURSE CONTENT: Small craft radar is probably the most versatile of all electronic navigation aids. Over a day's training we can teach you how to adjust the controls, interpret the picture and make use of the set for navigation and collision avoidance. The day usually takes place in our well equipped classroom which is fitted with 8 Radar simulators. Included in the course fee are the RYA courses notes and your certificate.
